What do you need to know before delivering steel to a site?

Why this matters more than for other trades
A six-metre length cannot turn a corner a shorter load can. A full truck needs somewhere to turn. And unloading steel is not something one person does by hand — either the site has labour and lifting, or it has to come with the load.

Road width and the largest vehicle that can reach · turning space · overhead clearance for cables and branches · who unloads and with what · whether a crane or hydra is available · the longest length the site can handle · permitted delivery hours · whether material can be stored securely.

Where a site cannot store or receive a full load, delivery in stages is often the practical answer. It has to be planned at quotation rather than arranged on the day.

What if the vehicle cannot get in?
If access or unloading conditions prevent delivery from proceeding, another transport arrangement or additional trip may be required. Any resulting charges depend on the quotation and agreed delivery terms. That is why these questions are asked at quotation.
Do you unload?
Unloading responsibility and any required unloading arrangement are confirmed with the quotation before despatch. Tell us what the site has, and it will be quoted accordingly.
