How supply works
Rates, availability, delivery and unloading are confirmed at quotation. Nothing on this website states a rate, a stock position or a delivery date, and no term here overrides what is agreed on your quotation and invoice.
Quotation
Rates and validity
- Steel and cement rates move with the market. The quotation states its applicable validity period. Current rates may need to be reconfirmed after that period.
- Quotations are prepared against the specification you supply. Where a grade, size or class is stated, that is what is quoted.
- Where an item is not readily available, we say so rather than substituting quietly.
- Weights on this website are theoretical calculated weights based on entered geometry and nominal steel density. Actual supplied weight can vary within manufacturing tolerances and according to the commercial measurement basis used for the quoted material. Commercial quantity and billing basis are confirmed on the quotation.
Specification
Grade and substitution
- Material is supplied to the grade or class you specify.
- Substitution of a specified structural grade or section is a design decision, not a supply one. Where the exact item is unavailable we will say so and discuss it, but we will not substitute without your agreement.
- Final material specification and structural quantities must follow drawings, BOQ and engineer or project requirements.
Delivery
Access, unloading and transport
- Site delivery can be quoted according to destination, vehicle requirement, access and unloading arrangements.
- Site access, the largest vehicle that can reach, turning space, overhead clearance and unloading must be confirmed before despatch.
- If access or unloading conditions prevent delivery from proceeding, another transport arrangement or additional trip may be required. Any resulting charges depend on the quotation and agreed delivery terms.
- Unloading responsibility and any required unloading arrangement are confirmed with the quotation before despatch.
- Staged delivery, where a site cannot receive a full load, is planned at quotation.
Material
Tolerance and condition
- Nominal dimensions are not exact dimensions. Actual weight varies within manufacturing tolerance.
- Check material on delivery and raise any discrepancy before it is used or cut.
- Cement is perishable and must be stored dry, off the ground and clear of exterior walls.
- Cut material is prepared to the sizes you supply, so those sizes should be checked before cutting is confirmed.
